Old Man's Beard This was the first plant that awakened me to the plant path. When I was a young girl my sister Monika @mo_wood0117 (who is an avid plant lover and Steward of the forest service) taught me about this plants magic. It was the first time I understood medicine literally grows on trees. Tillandsia usneoides
otherwise knows as : Air-plant Grandfather's Whiskers Graybeard Long Moss Old Man's Beard Spanish Moss or Wool Crepe is truly an amazing plant. Spanish moss is an 'air plant' in the bromeliad family. It is noted for its weeping silver leaves that dangle down from old or dead trees. Traditionally the fibers were woven into a coarse cloth that was used for bedding, floor mats and blankets. The fibers could be twisted into cordage that was used as rope. "Native American tribes used T. usneoides for livestock feed, as a binding agent in clay bricks and plaster, and for kindling. Women wove the fibre into the fabric of their dresses. It was used in medicine for a range of purposes, and has many uses in contemporary herbal medicine in Latin America. For example, preparations of the plant are used on haemorrhoids, abscesses and tumours, and are taken orally for heart, liver and lung ailments. Research has shown that T. usneoides has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activities, among others, that may support its use in herbal remedies."

💎 Prayers are answered 💎 Today I exhale. After a long challenging couple of years, today I feel like I can celebrate and rejoice in the feeling of my prayers being answered. It may seem like a small moment to celebrate, but for me it feels magnificent. My dream of running a training with my whole self and my passion for all things wild and primal have finally come to fruition. 🌱 My upcoming Primal Vinyasa and Applied Herbalism Training is FULL, and not only is it FULL, it's filled with the most incredible humans I could ever dream up. Every single being that is joining me in this journey ahead is truly magical🦄 .
Putting yourself out there and launching your passion can seem scary and overwhelming, but if you continue to nurture the loving relationships around you, and surround yourself with a supportive team, your dreams ARE possible. I want to remind you if you are holding back, please believe in your self, your work, and your worth. No one can do it for you.

Thursday 8/26 – Sunday 8/29 In person, on-site movement retreat for folks who want to get outside and play in the spirit of humanness and connection with nature. Daily yoga/movement, and meditation practices. Swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, paddle boarding, lawn games, free time to play and enjoy togetherness in this beautiful mountain lake location. Family friendly environment (kids welcome). Accommodations are camp-style, so bring a tent if you prefer a serene natural sleeping environment, or sleep in your vehicle in the parking lot if you prefer. Coffee and light breakfast, lunch, & dinner will be provided. If you’re a big breakfast eater, or are accustomed to eating frequently throughout the day, you may want to bring your own breakfast and snacks to supplement. Sample Schedule:
7:30am – sunrise meditation
8am – coffee/tea pre-breakfast
11am – yoga/movement
1:00 – lunch
(mid day free play)
4pm – workshops (topics TBA)
7pm – dinner Sample menu:
Breakfast – coffee, tea, fruit, toast
Lunch – tacos & salad
Dinner – Chile with cornbread

I am so excited about the incredible group of 24 students and over 10 teachers who have assembled to explore the healing power of yoga, injury prevention & rehabilitation, mental & emotional health, combined with the skillful application of herbs.
